Awards/ Grants/ Gifts Received by Sportsperson

Is GST Applicable for the Cash Awards/Grants/ Gifts Received by Sportsperson to support and felicitate for their performance to represent the state or country. The Awards/ Gifts received are over and above the Fees Charged by the Sportsperson and not in lieu of any Contract. Neither it is for any commercial gain, for advertisement, sponsorship etc. Whether this is exempted or taxable under GST?
