Last updated: 24 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GST Doctor collects, uses, stores, shares and protects information when you use our website, software, online services and Chrome extension.
1. Who We Are
GST Doctor provides GST-related software, tools and informational services. Our primary website is https://gstdoctor.com. Our previous website address was https://gstdoctor.in.
Our services include GST-related software, the GST Doctor Chrome extension, account-based online tools and GST-related educational and discussion content.
2. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through:
- The GST Doctor website;
- The GST Doctor Chrome extension;
- GST Doctor user accounts;
- GST Doctor software and online tools;
- Our discussion, support and communication services; and
- Related GST Doctor servers, databases and application programming interfaces.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Google Account Information
When you sign in using Google, we may receive basic account information authorised by you, such as your name, email address, profile image and a unique account identifier.
We use this information to create or identify your GST Doctor account, authenticate your access, maintain your login session and associate saved data with your account.
GST Doctor does not receive or store your Google account password.
3.2 GSTINs and Search Results
When you use GST Doctor tools or the Chrome extension, we may collect and process:
- GSTINs entered or selected by you;
- GSTIN validation requests;
- GST registration and return-related search results;
- Dates and status of searches performed;
- Processing progress and error information; and
- Reports or results saved to your GST Doctor account.
This information is processed only to provide the GST-related functionality requested by you, maintain your search records, generate results and improve the reliability of the service.
3.3 Browsing and Page Information
The GST Doctor Chrome extension may access limited information from the active browser tab or supported webpages when necessary to provide its stated functionality.
This information may include:
- The URL or domain of the active tab;
- The title or status of the active page;
- GSTIN-related content displayed on a supported GST webpage;
- Information required to communicate between the webpage and the extension side panel; and
- Technical error information generated while processing a user-requested operation.
The extension uses this access to determine whether the active webpage is supported, process GSTIN-related information requested by the user and display the relevant results.
GST Doctor does not use the extension to continuously monitor browsing activity, create a general browsing history, track users across unrelated websites or collect information from webpages unrelated to the extension's stated purpose.
3.4 Extension Storage
The Chrome extension may use Chrome's local extension storage to temporarily save:
- Authentication and session information;
- User preferences;
- GSTINs entered by the user;
- Processing status;
- Temporary results; and
- Information required to restore the extension interface.
This allows the extension to retain its state when the side panel is closed, reopened or refreshed. Relevant account data, GSTIN requests and saved search results may also be transmitted to and stored on GST Doctor servers.
3.5 Website Account Information
If you register on our website, we may collect information provided in your user profile, including your name, email address, account preferences and information relating to your use of GST Doctor services.
3.6 Comments and Discussion Content
When visitors leave comments or participate in discussions, we may collect the information entered in the relevant form, along with the visitor's IP address and browser user-agent information for moderation, security and spam detection.
An anonymised string generated from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use that service. After approval of a comment, your profile image may be publicly visible with the comment.
3.7 Technical and Security Information
We may automatically collect limited technical information necessary to operate and secure our services, such as:
- IP address;
- Browser and device type;
- Date and time of access;
- Authentication events;
- Server logs;
- Error logs; and
- Suspected misuse or security events.
This information is used for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, service maintenance and enforcement of usage limits.

5. Chrome Extension Permissions
The GST Doctor Chrome extension may request the following permissions:
Storage
Storage permission is used to save authentication state, user preferences, entered GSTINs, processing progress and temporary results.
Tabs
Tabs permission may be used to identify the active browser tab, check whether its URL belongs to a supported webpage and communicate with the content script running on that page.
Side Panel
Side Panel permission is used to display the extension's main interface, allowing users to enter GSTINs, initiate processing, view progress and review results alongside the active webpage.
Host Permissions
Host permissions are used only for supported GST-related webpages and GST Doctor service domains. They allow the extension to interact with supported pages and securely communicate with GST Doctor servers.
These permissions are not used to monitor unrelated browsing activity or access unrelated websites.
6. Remote Code
The GST Doctor Chrome extension does not download or execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly code.
The extension may communicate with GST Doctor servers through secure network requests and receive data, such as authentication responses, GSTIN-related information and search results. Such responses contain data and do not contain remotely executable extension logic.
7. How We Store Information
Information associated with your account, including GSTINs and saved search results, may be stored on servers used or controlled by GST Doctor.
Some information may also be stored temporarily in the extension's local Chrome storage to maintain the extension session, preferences and processing state.
Data may be processed or stored using third-party hosting, database, authentication, email, security or infrastructure service providers acting on our behalf.
8. How We Share Information
GST Doctor does not sell or rent users' personal information.
We may disclose limited information to service providers where necessary to operate the service, including:
- Google, for user authentication;
- Hosting and server infrastructure providers;
- Database and data-storage providers;
- Email and customer-support providers;

- Technical service providers working on our behalf.
These providers may process information only to perform services for GST Doctor and are not authorised by us to use the information for their own unrelated purposes.

When you log in, cookies may be used to save your login information and display preferences. If you select a "Remember Me" option, your login session may remain active for a longer period.
You may control website cookies using your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent certain account or login features from functioning correctly.
11. Data Retention
We retain account information, GSTIN requests and search results for as long as reasonably necessary to provide account features, maintain saved records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect our services.
Information may be retained until the user deletes the relevant information, closes the account or submits a valid deletion request, subject to legal, administrative, security and backup requirements.
Comments and associated moderation information may be retained to maintain discussion continuity, recognise follow-up comments and prevent spam or abuse.
Limited records may remain in backups or security logs for a reasonable period after deletion before being securely overwritten or removed.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, encrypted network communications, server security, monitoring and restricted access to production systems.
However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Subject to applicable law and verification of your identity, you may request:
- Access to personal information held about you;
- Correction of inaccurate information;
